We are the heart of Green Country. Nestled right here in northeast Oklahoma and anchoring the northern stretch of Congressional District 2, extending down into the historic roots of Little Dixie. Mayes County is a place defined by its people, its hard work, and its community spirit.
We aren’t your typical political organization. We are a neighborhood-first coalition of lifelong Oklahomans, pragmatists, and forward-thinkers. Whether you consider yourself a moderate Democrat, an independent, or a traditional Republican who simply believes it’s time for a constructive change, you have a seat at our table. We believe that good ideas don't have a party line, and that local progress happens when we focus on what unites us: great schools, thriving local businesses, strong infrastructure, and looking out for our neighbors.

Know Your Districts: Who Represents Mayes County
Civic engagement starts with knowing where you vote and who represents you. Mayes County sits at a unique crossroads of Oklahoma geography and culture.
Here is a quick look at our federal and state voting districts:
State-Wide Elected Officials:
U.S. Congressional District 2 (CD2): Mayes County anchors the northern, "Green Country" half of CD2, a massive federal district covering all of eastern Oklahoma. It stretches from our beautiful lakes and rovers all the way south to "Little Dixie" along the Texas border.
Oklahoma State Senate: Mayes County is mostly represented in State Senate by District 1 or District 18.
Oklahoma State House: Our county is split among localized legislative districts such as House District 5, 6, 8, 23 & 86.
District Attorney (Rogers and Mayes): Chief prosecutor for state criminal cases and acts as the legal advisor to the Mayes County Board of Commissioners.
County-Wide Elected Officials:
County Commissioners Districts 1, 2, and 3: - Each district elects a county commissioner and together they act as the county's executive board, managing roads, bridges and the community budget.
County Sheriff: The Chief law enforcement officer responsible for the county jail and protecting rural areas outside of town.
County Clerk: Official custodian of all public records, real estate deeds, and county financial records
County Assessor: Determines the value of all property in the county for tax purposes.
County Treasurer: Receives and safeguards all county revenues and distributes tax dollars to our local school districts and cities.

State Questions: (SQ): These state questions can come up from time to time on the ballot and allows for changes in the state laws or constitution.
County & City Propositions: Local sales tax extensions, school bond issues for new technology and athletics facilities, or municipal charter changes.
